CFFC – Flower symbol of Madeira

With their orange and blue colours they resemble Birds of Paradise – and from it they took its British name. The botanic name – Strelitzia – comes from the surname of Charlotta, the wife of George III, king of England.

In Poland this flower can be cultivated in flowerpots or bought as cut ones. On Madeira it grows easily on city squares, in gardens and even along the roads. The exuberant nature of this island is breath-taking.
