It’s a rare gift to be able to see an angel. And if you could see many of them? …
Then you surely must be visiting a Protestant cemetery in Rome’s district of Testaccio. Some of the angels are crying, the others – sleeping. But all of them seem to be so real …

I had a wish to go this weekend but the cemetery was closed for Ferragosto. Next time. If you have any special recommendations, except for the angels, Keats’ and Shelley’s graves, I’d be happy to hear.

Dear Manja, my best recommendation is to have at least 2-3 hours of spare time and just wander around. The most beauties you can find in liitle details hiding in corners, shadows and under the plants. Breath the atmosphere of the place. Listen to the parrots screeching over your head. Feel a bit of eternity …

Ahh, thank you so much, Awa, this sounds just divine. 🙂 I hope they let dogs in… in Ljubljana you can’t take them to a cemetery.

I don’t remember that. But there was one cat there, so maybe the dogs can also enter.

I think they might. In Italy they let dogs in so many places, including IKEA. 😀

I love wandering in a cemetery thinking about the history of the stones and the angels are peaceful to look at. Nice post, Awa.

Thank you, Jane. There were also other sculptures there and much green and colorful plants. I felt a bit like in a garden.
