Supposedly it’s one of the three oldest pharmacies in Europe.
It’s described widely in guides as a place where “secret” mixtures of herbs and liquids can be bought. Yet when I visited it, the shop was hidden in shadow and noone appeared to explain the composition of different bottles and boxes.
The pharmacy is situated in one of the towers of Olimje cloister. Its walls and ceiling are covered with paintings. Bundles of lights enter through bowed windows but the shelves with jars and bags vanish in shade.
I left the pharmacy and headed towards the church that rooms a very strange altar (in my next post).

How gorgeous! I first thought it must be from a museum until I read your text:)

I suppose, it’s more a sort of museum then a real pharmacy 😉
