To be completely enchanted by the Slovenian nature you have to meet the raising sun.
Our settlement in Slovenia was in a tiny mountain village Gorenje pri Zrecah. Each morning I got up before 7.00 and had a walk to see the nature (and people) waking up.
On the first morning I saw the herds of clouds hanging over the mountains. I caught them in a few shots. I have never seen them again in such a majestic beauty.
The architecture of Gorenje matches well these landscapes. I will show it to you in my next post.

Oh yes, I remember when you told me this is the town you would be visiting, and I had to google it because I had never heard of it. π I’m glad I’ll see it now in your posts. (Just mind the spelling: Gorenje pri ZreΔah.) Also, ‘Gorenje’ is Slovenian brand of household appliances, so I was confused for a while. π Also also, Gorenje means ‘burning’.

Spelling corrected. Thanks a lot! We used to have a washing machine called Gorenje during communistic times, so I know the brand. The factory still exists, but it’s several tens of kilometers away, so I guess these are two separate places.

Oh, yes, indeed it does and is doing well. Cool that you had their washing machine. ‘Gor’ also means ‘up’, there is an entire area in Slovenia called ‘Gorenjska’ meaning ‘upper country’, but not around there, rather where the Alps and Lake Beld are located. π

That would explain the root of “my” Gorenje – it’s located high on the mountain top. Thanks a lot for all your valuable info π
