“Szopka” is the Polish name for the visualization of the moment when Jesus came to human world as a child.
Szopkas are constructed in every single church in Poland and on many squares or town markets. Out of wood, stones, paper, plastic or whatever imaginable material. In modern or traditional look. Some even with live animals or people.
We can’t imagine Christmas time without this symbolic impression of Jesus’s arrival.
Photo comes from a village Korzenna in south-east Poland.
