Mariann Orańska came to Kamieniec in 1838. On the hill over monastery she decided to build an extraordinary palace.
It’s a small walk up the hill to get to the entrance of the palace. Approaching it I get completely astonished by its magnitude. The outer walls are of several meters high. With the tall brick towers it looks more like a huge castle.
Th construction took more then 30 years but Marianne didn’t actually enjoyed dwelling in it. Due to her devorce and further romance she was banned from permanent stay there.
