This square is a political centre of Bergamo, somehow in contrary to religious Piazza Duomo.

The City Tower is 54 meters high and is equipped with a clock that strikes 100 times at 10.00 p.m. (used to be 180 strokes to allow city gates to close down).

To the left from tower stands Palazzo della Regione from XII century – one of the oldest public palaces in Italy.

The fountain in the middle of the square is the most frequent scenery for tourist photo from Bergamo 😀
