This dress looks amazing but also a bit inconvenient…
Yet it’s a style, modern ladies of old times were dressed in. It required a lot of skills and flexibility to sit down by the table, I guess (not mentioning the need to go to the toilet … 😉
This striking orange dress is exhibited (among other alike clothes) in the castle of Brzeg (which is now turned into a city museum).
Polish equivalent of “a lady” is “dama“.

How inconvenient acts of daily living must have been. Fine ladies, trapped by fashion, they must have truly needed servants for every daily task.

Oh yes. I guess it would be really difficult if not impossible to dress like this by yourself 😉

I was thinking of baser, yet totally human and necessary, daily bodily functions. 😐
I read of American West pioneer wagon train days, and days of the stage coaches where passengers would disembark somewhere in the bushes and women passengers would hold up their skirts to form a wall of privacy and then they would take their turns behind that wall to execute different functions.
Man, we have it made in this century!
