I hope, you enjoyed this short walk along the island by my side.
Before we part for good I still would like you to meet a few living creatures that I spotted on Zakynthos.
First go the cats. They are lovely in every corner of the world but in Greece they were mostly sleeping. The best solution to avoid the enormous heat.
There was also a donkey (each day standing under another olive tree) and proud horses (you could buy a ride on them).
Although summer on Zakynthos is really warm, the island is full of plants: picturesque prickly pears (on the main photo), lemons laying on the ground like our apples, figs still on the trees and – of course! – palms.
And a curiosity: a glowing tree. Do you know it’s name?

You wonderful pictures could have been taken here in Malta, except from the one of the donkey, I never seen any donkeys in Malta but lots of wild cats, beautiful plants but never a glowing tree 😀

I guess, the cats are almost everywhere! As for the tree it’s actually just an early morning light. But it makes an unearthy impression on this tree, isn’t it?

Indeed. But I suppose it’s even more impressive in the wild places that I didn’t manage to see.
