I’m always astonished whenever I read about these monks.
They were (and are) caring not only for their living but also helping and advancing the people around them.
In Jędrzejów Cistarcians headed windmills, sawmill, glasswork and fish breading, a hospital and a hospice, they built schools.
They developed together with the society, not by exploiting it (like many other churches).
To Jędrzejów they came in 1149 from French Marimond and stayed till 1819 when the convent was cancelled. They returned in 1945 and have been living in the abbey till today.
