In Italy relatives and friends place candles to commemorate the souls leaving the world.

Last year I was walking in the evening in Bergamo, small Italian town. Suddenly I saw a lot of little candles creating a kind of path leading to the church’s doors.

I stopped estonished. I gazed inside the church and noticed the coffin. I realized, it was a funeral.

Only later I learnt that anyone can place his own candle and write on it what he mostly valued the person for. A kind last farewell.
