This lion sleeps since the end of XIX century when it was casted in Silesian foundry.
The design was made by Theodor Kalide and then transformed into mould from which many similar statues were produced.
The Sleeping Lion from my photo stands in the centre of Gliwice in front of Silvia Hotel.
Another one keeps guard on the main market in Bytom.
But there are also others in Berlin, Dortmund or Hradec Kralove.
