Zabljak is a perfect destination to sleep over and dream about unforgettable beauty of Durmitor highlands.

We entered this little town under the late evening sun. Behind we left a flat surface covered with green grass and dotted with white stones. In front of us banked up large range of Durmitor Mountains. We found the host and hurried to see at least a bit of the city.

The heart of it is just a cross-road. We followed one street running to the outskirts and shoot a few old wooden houses beautifully lit by the setting sun. We mounted also a little hill with the cemetery and a chapel. Some tombstones were really old, lost in the high grass.

We stepped into the chapel and got speechless. It was just being renovated with brand new frescoes. A blaze of vivid colours surrounded us from all sides. Some sketches were still not filled with the paint. You can see a bit of this wonder on my video below:

We got completely frozen and realized, we were at the footsteps of mountains of more then 2000 m in height. Warmed up by a glass of rakija 😉 we went to sleep to get ready for our Durmitor adventure… (more in my next post)
