Two huge churches in such a small village make a great impression.
In XVII and XVIII centuries Klimontów was a town which belonged to family Ossolińscy.
You may remember this name from my story about Krzyżtopór palace. The palace was built by son (Krzysztof) and the churches by father (Jan) and brother (Jerzy).
Their coat of arm was an axe which you can see over the entrance to the church.
Unfortunatelly in 1870 Klimontów turned into village again and remained so till now.
When we arrived there with my sister the centre of Klimontów looked pretty empty and sleepy. We met by chance the priest and thanks to it we could visit the interiors of both churches (see my next posts).
