City of Ghent consists of two worlds: upper (dry) one and lower (wet) one. Sometimes you may get much surprised how different they are.
Ghent is all cut by rivers and canals. It’s ever lived mirroring itself in the water. I call it “a double city” and love to walk it through both by day and by night. You may find more about this opposite town here.

Yes, this city is really worth seeing. It’s not huge, so one full day of wandering can lead you through most important places.

We visited many years ago when staying in Brugges, but I think there was a lot of renovation going on. Perhaps we should go back and see what it’s like now!
